The organisation of the BfV is not a secret

The BfV is organised into specialised departments, operational support units and service units.
The specialised departments are responsible for dealing with the different fields of extremism. The operational intelligence collection units gather the relevant information. The analysis units assess this information and prepare it for the recipients.
The specialised support units, e.g. for surveillance or for telecommunications interception pursuant to the Act to Restrict the Privacy of Correspondence, Posts and Telecommunication (G10-Act), support the specialised departments in their work.
The service units for IT and technology, security issues, initial and further training and central services create the general conditions necessary for the specialised departments to operate.
